It started with an idea we lost once too often
Eqtepas grew out of something every serious reader knows: you read a book with passion, a sentence stops you, you promise yourself you'll remember it — and a few weeks later it's gone. Screenshots drown among thousands of photos, notebooks get abandoned, and highlights stay locked inside one app. So we built the tool we wished we had: swipe over a line and it's saved — text and image — with its book and page number, from PDFs and EPUBs, from paper books with your camera, and from web pages with the browser extension.
How we build it
From inside the reading experience itself. Our team reads every day, and every feature came out of a real reading session: the selection tool that crops just the line you want, page-accurate citations, and sync between phone and browser. We build what we need first, then open it to readers, students, researchers and creators everywhere.
What we believe
- Reading comes first — saving a quote should never break your flow; one swipe and you're back on your page.
- Every quote deserves its source — book, author and page, so you can cite it, share it, or find it again.
- Honesty with readers — everything is free except heavy text extraction, and we say so plainly.
